FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?
Everyone has the opportunity to benefit from therapy, whether it is explored through talking, play, art and/or music. It is important to take the time to identify the things in our lives that are good and exploring the things that are bad and potentially holding you back. Therapy can be a momentary reset or it can be a lifelong journey.
WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS TO PROVIDE THERAPY?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 17 years field experience.
DO YOU PROVIDE TELETHERAPY OR IN-PERSON OPTIONS DURING?
Yes, I offer both options and would be more than happy to talk through these options over the phone to explore which works best for your needs.
CAN I REALLY CONNECT WITH A THERAPIST VIA TELEHEALTH? ARE THESE METHODS AS EFFECTIVE AS IN-PERSON THERAPY?
Yes, once you develop a partnership with your therapist, teletherapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. Digital platforms allow for the flexibility for sessions to occur when you need the discussion most.
WHAT SHOULD MY EXPECTATIONS BE FOR THERAPY?
Often times the first visit can be a platform for us to get to know each other and identify the areas of your life you would like to work on and potentially develop coping skills to enrich your life. In the coming sessions I will establish goals and desired outcomes to help you uproot the challenges in your life.
HOW LONG IS THE TYPICAL SESSION?
The standard session lasts for 50 minutes. Longer sessions are available upon request.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND THERAPY SESSIONS?
This is something we can discuss in our initial phone call. Most clients prefer to meet once or twice a week up front and then scale it back after we establish a routine.
DO YOU SCHEDULE SESSIONS ON NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS?
Yes, flexible session times are available to make therapy more accessible for you.
WHEN IS THE PAYMENT DUE, AND WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?
Payment will be collected at the time of service, and options include cash, credit, or check.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Through my partnership with Headway, I accept the following insurances: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, Independence Blue Cross, Pennsylvania - Virtual National Network, Quest Behavioral Health, and Select Health - Colorado.
Otherwise, you pay at the time of your session, and if you have out-of-network benefits, you can choose to seek reimbursement afterward.
Although a lot of my clients have insurance, many use the self-pay option for convenience and competitive rates.
Also, it allows for fewer restrictions in your therapist selection and for more privacy control. When you pay for therapy through insurance, the therapist is required to enter a diagnosis in the claim process, and that information will be stored on your insurance records.
In addition, many clients pay privately using their HSA/FSA fund based on their individual plans.
SUPERBILL REIMBURSEMENT
A detailed receipt and diagnosis code can be submitted as a superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
You can cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, or you will be charged the total amount of the session.
